Amplitude division interferometric pinhole

quantum-pinhole

In this concept project we want to try to reproduce an image using a pinhole based on a amplitude division interferometer, consisting of two mirrors and a beam splitter.

Inside the interference box the two light sources meet tangentially, the sun light is not coherent,  whereas in the first 2 prototypes we pass the light through a small hole,  this means the light will not have a tendency to become coherent, in the third prototype a double slit of a few hundredths of a millimeter is used, very nice photos but still the visible interference is missing.

Led can provide more visible effect as they produce a laser-like light, In this photo you can see a Dmatrix gromag lamp,  the interferences still remain in the imagination of the observer.

q-pinhole lens

First prototype

The first prototype has a very large size to accommodate a thick film  and also has a bottom to be mounted on a camera or on lens, it was made with a wire 3d printer, it incorporates two magnets for mounting the upper mirror, under a photo taken with a lens.

Second prototype

The second version is more compact, it can be mounted on a camera or accommodate a film of about 50 * 40, the fit is for canon like old 7d.

The “object” was built using a liquid 3d print, due to the high precision required, unfortunately it has a high degree of difficulty in making a perfect print.

Do not pollute with liquid 3d prints, do not wash the printed pieces under the sink.

Third prototype  –  slit interference

The third prototype same body, adopts a slit interference, it is very small, it is a sheet of aluminum painted black and cut with laser, it returns very beautiful images but the interference is not yet visible!

Work on the third prototype is still in progress
